Nesy Easy Blending – Safe, Fast, and Precise Nitrox Mixing

Nesy enables safe and easy handling through a clear control panel and a finely adjustable, high-quality needle valve that allows continuous oxygen enrichment.

The system includes an automatic shutdown that monitors O₂ content and stops the oxygen supply if the mixture exceeds 40% O₂.

Installation requires only 10 minutes, with setup limited to connecting Nesy to the compressor control. Power can be supplied with 12V, 24V, or 220V, and the unit weighs 20 kg.

Nesy operates at a low pressure of up to 0.5 bar. Mixing is completed before compaction, reducing the risk of high-pressure oxygen enrichment. Any nitrox mix from 21% to 40% O₂ can be set directly on the system and pre-mixed.

For safety, the electromechanics prevent oxygen flow during failures or when the compressor is switched off, and Nesy automatically deactivates in these situations. The sealed oxygen pressure regulator on the accumulator is set between 1.5 and 2.5 bar, depending on the compressor’s intake capacity. A precision pressure regulator with a 0.5-bar safety valve stabilizes oxygen flow and prevents mixtures above 40% O₂ during pressure fluctuations or if the main regulator fails. If the main pressure regulator fails, a precision safety valve opens.

Nesy achieves a mixing constant deviation of ±0.3%, a level of precision not reached by comparable systems.

The Three Primary Ways to Create Nitrox

In principle, nitrox production can be divided into two main methods. The first uses 100% oxygen to enrich the nitrox mixture, typically through the partial pressure or co-flow (blending) methods. For producing larger volumes without relying on pure oxygen, the membrane process is used. This method increases oxygen content by separating nitrogen from ambient air and is considered the safest approach.

With membrane technology, Nirox is made from ambient air, it is considered the safest method to produce nitrox in large quantities. The maximum amount of oxygen that can be achieved with this process is limited and thus ensures extremely high safety when using a membrane. It is now considered the standard procedure at international diving centers that offer Nitrox to their customers, as it produces Nitrox safely and inexpensively.

Continuous Blending

Best for Dive Centers that Want to Produce Large Quantities of Nitrox

With the co-flow process (blending), the supply should be 100% oxygen must be guaranteed. Trained personnel should also be deployed here, since the actual blending with 100% oxygen takes place upstream of the compressor. In principle, larger quantities of nitrox can be produced, but at a higher cost. This method is therefore suitable for small dive centers that have a cheap and very good supply of 100% oxygen.

Partial Pressure Blending

The handling of 100% oxygen poses a certain potential for danger as oxygen is considered a fire accelerant and is reactive, only trained personnel and tested equipment should be used. The partial pressure method is suitable for the production of small amounts of nitrox or if high oxygen percentages are required in the later mixture, and the supply of 100% oxygen should be sufficiently secured.
